Treatment of stenosis of pyelo -ureteral junction with endopyeloureterotomy

summary

Endopyeloureterotomy consists in longitudinal incision of the stenosed pyelo-ureteral junction. It is performe under visual control through a renal fistula formed by puncture. Endopyeloureterotomy was performed in 20 patients, ages 7 to 64. In all patients the stenosis occured after plastic surgeries of pyelo-ureteral junction or renal calculosis. Good treatment results were obtained in 16 patients (80%). The paper presents the techni±ue of surgery and discusses its advantages and disadvantages.
