summary

The authors examined a group of 128 patients with prostatic carcinoma who underwent TURP. They stressed the diagnostic value of the method in prostatic adenoma and its influence on further therapy. TURP enables patients in stages C and D of carcinoma to pass urine and it relieves dysuria. The authors did not observe an acceleration of the development of advanced prostatic carcinoma becau­se of TURP.
