summary

Of the total number of 14 747 patients treated at the urological department in Bydgoszcz 368 (2.5%?) died. An overwhelming majority of deaths were caused by renal and circulatory failure. For reducing the death ratę the author sug­gests possibly early postoperative mobilization of the patients, rehabilitation exer-cises and generał exercises including respiratory exercises and close cooperation with other specialists, pariculary with specialists in internal medicine.
