Results of treatment of posterior urethra injuries following pelvic fractures depending on the way of primary management

summary

After an analysis of 50 cases of posterior urethra damage following pelvic fracture managed by various methods in the hospital departments of urology, surgery and orthopaedic surgery in Silesia it has been found that the best late results were obtained by urologists who produced first suprapubic cystostomy, laid then primary suture of the urethra and inserted diains into the precystic space through the perineum.
