summary

The authors madę cultures of ductus deferens contents in 217 patients. In cases with bacteriuria the number of positive cultures from this materiał was nearly twice as high (11.4%) ciespite treatment with antibiotics and chemothe-rapeutic agents than in patients with sterile urine (5.95%).
Before indwelling catheter insertion severing and ligation of ductus deferens is indicated, particularly in inpatients exposed to hospital infections of the urinary tract by particularly virulent bacterial flora.
