The author describes injuries to the urinary tract which may follow Caesarean section. Injuries to the bladder or ureter unrecognized during the operation may lead to development of uterocystic or uteroureteral fistulae.

The author desrcibes the mechanism of development and the types of fistulae, their diagnosis and treatment. Four own cases are reported — 3 with uterocystic fistula and 1 with uteroureteral fistula.
