We present the case of spontaneous rupture of the kidney. In most cases the non-

traumatic rupture is associated with underlying diseases of the kidney. The only pathology

we found was iliac muscle atrophy due to Heine-Medina disease. Diagnostic dilemmas

were discussed. Conservative treatment was successful.
