summary

High degree of infections following vaginal operations gives the reason for the perio-
perative prophylaxis. Single dose piperacilin reduces significantly the incidence of bac-
teriuria on the 2* postoperative day, but is not sufficient for the Protection against urina-
ry tract infections during the whole postoperativc period.
