summary

Using the methods of radioimmunoassay (RIA) and enzymoimmunoassay (EIA) the concentrations were determined of prostate acid phosphatase in 209 sampłes of the serum from 63 patients with prostatic carcinoma, 65 cases of prostatic adenoma and 26 healthy subjects. It was found that the results obtained by both methods were significantly equivalent. One of the advantages of EIA is that it is done without radioisotopes and special measuring equipment. The EIA method should be widely introduced in laboratory investigations of this phosphatase.
