LATE RESULTS OF SURGICAL TREATMENT OF EFFORT URINARY INCONTINENCE IN WOMEN USING POLISH TISSUE ADHESIVE CHIRURCOLL

- In the years 1976?1980 55 operations of urethrocervicopexy (gluing of the urethra and bladder cervix to the symphysis pubis) were carried out using cyana-crylate adhesive. The operations were performed far effort urinary incontinence in women. In 26 cases only this procedure was performed (47.3%) while in 29 cases (52.7%) a simultaneous corrective operation was done for displacement of the genitals (vaginoplasty and eventual fixation of the displaced uterus to the abdominal wall).
- In April 1983 the results of this treatment were analysed (over 3 years after the operation). Complete disappearance of incontinence was achieved in 76,0% of cases. Failuires are explained as due to inadvertent unqalification of patients and insufficient mastering of the surgical technique dn the first treated cases. The method is simple and deserving popularization, especially as no serious complications were observed afteir the operation.
