summary

A material of 500 electroresections of prostatic carcinoma was analysed. This group included 392 patients in whom besides adenoma calculosis of the bladder, bladder tumours (cancers and papillomas), bladder diverticulosis and urethral stric-ture were found. In cases of bladder calculi the management depended on the size of the calculus and adenoma and the condition of the patient, and in cases of bladder tumour the treatment depended on the situation of the tumour and urine retention in the bladder. Diverticula were not removed during electrore-section of prostatic adenoma. If stricture of the urethra was found internal ure-throtomy was done and adenoma electroresection was made depending on the degree of stricture.
