summary
- A group of 5 patients with advanced prostate carcinoma were administered 1200 mg of ketoeonazol during 24h. In all the patients the authors observed a diminution of the neoplasm size, regression of complete retention of urine or reduction of retention in the bladder, multiple decrease in testosterone concentration and normalization or significant decrease in phosphatase activity. A fast analgetic reaction was observed in 2 patients. The results of the therapy show the usefulness of ketokonazol in the therapy of prostate carcinoma. One patient had symptoms of intolerance from the alimentary tract and the therapy was stopped. Exami-nations performed did not show a harmful effect of the drug on the function of kidneys, liver and haemopoietic system.
