summary

The results of retrospective analysis of the length of hypotrophic kidneys (HK) in 37 children operated because of vesicoureteral reflux (vur) showed their growth in 88.0% of patients. The growth of length of hypotrophic kidneys was inversely proportional to the length of the other kidney and it was nearly as much as twice smaller. The authors found a relationship between the size of the hypotrophic kidney, the age of a patient operated, degree of the vesicoureteral reflux and the time elapse between the operation and the growth of the kidney length.
