summary

The authors describe various possibilities of applying ureteroureterostomy in cases of healthy bladder and in cases of supracystic urine divension. The history of the procedurę is outlined and the techni±ue is described. Attention is called to the direction of the anastomosis in case of differences in the width of the ureters. Clinical observations in 21 cases of ureteroureterostomy are discussed. Transureteroureterocutaneostomy was performed most frequently ? 17 cases. In no case the ?recipient" ureter was damaged. The main complication of transurete­roureterostomy was stenosis of the cutaneous orifice. For avoiding this complica­tion only wide ureters should be sutured to the skin.
