Since ureterorenoscopy has expanded our endoscopic working range into the upper urinary tract, it is possible to see and even treat selected upper tract tumors by laser coagulation or electroresection. As the results in the treatment of small bladder tumors with the Nd:YAG laser are equal or superior to electroresection, and there is no bleeding and no risk of perforation with this technique, we have applied laser coagulation treatment to a number of selected tumors in the renal pelvis and ureter in the past two years.
