In experiments on 34 bitches the usefulness of Chirurcoll tissue adhesive for

closure of vesicovaginal fistula was investigated. A Control group of 3 dogs served for mastering of the experimental techniąue. The remaining dogs were divided according to approach and method of mistula closure into another two groups. Group II — 4 dogs — had the fistula closed form an approach through the bladder in two layers with Chirurcoll used for sealing the sutures closing the vagina. Three dogs survived and in 2 of them the fistula was not closed, and in the third dog with closed fistula two conerements were found on polymerized adhesive. In group III — 27 dogs — the fistula was closed in two layers from the side of the vagina and the sutures were sealed with Chirurcoll. Twenty-four dogs survived and in 1(8 of them the fistula was closed. In the animals with closed fistula the inflammatory changes in the urinary tract were slight. In 6 dogs the fistula was not closed but in 4 of them the lumen of the fistula was hair-thin. The observations of the dogs, contrast investigations and pathomorpho-logical examinations showed that Chirurcoll can be used successfully for closure of vesicovaginal fistula from vaginal approach.
