summary

On the ground of 7 cases diagnostic difficulties in cases of traumatic bladder rupture and the possibilities of distinguishing it from rupture of the posterior urethra are discussed. The diagnosis is particularly difficult if: 1) an intestinal loop wedged into the ruptured bladder wall closes the hole completely, 2) there is intramural rupture without discontinuity of the bladder wall, 3) bladder rupture accompanies urethral rupture.
