Prevention of recurrent calcium-salt urolithiasis requires, besides correct sur­gical techniąue during removal of the first stone, also the use of the whole modern knowledge for establishing metabolic and, possibly, environmental cause of urolithiasis in a given case. The indispensable diagnostic investigations are discussed, and practical methods of elimination of these causes and certain methods being tested now are described. All these methods cannot guarantee fully that urolithiasis recurrences will not recur but make possible diminution of their freąuency.
