summary

Introduction: The percentage of the patients with overactive bladder increases with the age, also in the women with urine incontinence.
Material and methods: 180 women at the age of 24y. 74 (on average 48.3) with the symptoms of urine incontinence were put through the investigation. The settlement of the kind of urinary incontinence was made on the base of complex urodynamic investigation by estimating the phase of filling the bladder in laying, sitting and standing positions with use of provocating tests.
Results: The genuine urge incontinence (UI) was recognized al 17 (9.4%) and coexisting with stress incontinence (mixed form Ml) at 29 (16.1%) of the investigated women.
Overactive bladder went together with 25.5% of the women with urinary incontinence. The patients complained of both diurnal (12.5 ± 6.4 at UI and 10.3 ± 2.5 at Ml) and nocturnal frequency of urination, with decreased capacity of diurnal mictions accordingly 91 ± 38 ml and 125 ± 50 ml. The average voiding volume in uroflowmetry were 165 ± 70 ml, and 252 ± 40 ml, Qnm 17.0 ± 7.8 ml/s and 25.4 ± 4.6 ml/s respectively. The average of maximum cystometric capacity was at UI240 ± 102 ml and 308 i 58 ml with detrusor pressure 29.3 ± 13.4 cm H,0 and 16.5 ± 4.9 cm H,0 and compliance accordingly 13.2 ± 7.7 ml/cm H,0 and 28.2 ± 8.1 ml/cm H,0 respectively.
Conclusion: The bladders of the women with urge urinary incontinence, nonneurogenic, were characterized with sensory and motoric hyperactivity, unstable detrusor with contractions with a low amplitude and the decrease compliance of bladder wall.
