summary

Renal cell carcinoma accounts for about 3% of all cancers. Approximately 30% of the patients have evidence of distant metastasis at initial presentation. Lung, bones (mainly verte-bral column and pelvis) liver, brain are the most common sites, but there are also rare once like digestive tract, adrenal gland, skin, second kidney or vagina. Late metastasis of renal cell carcinoma can be observed after many years after nephrectomy. Authors report the case of 61 years old female patient with renal tumor detected by abdominal ultrasound. Radical left nephrectomy was performed. Eight months later gynaecological examination revealed solid lesion at the vaginal apex, which turned out to be renal cell carcinoma metastasis. Additional assessment such as computed tomography excluded evidence of involvement of other struc-tures. The patient underwent an excision of the tumour.
