summary

Objective. The aim of the study is retrospective analysis after nephron-sparing
surgery of 60 patients, performed due in unilateral smali kidney tumors in
period from 1988 to 1999 years.
Material and method. The control study was performed according to EORTC
direction, ranged from 6 to 140 months after surgery. We have treated 28 women
and 32 men in average age 53.7 year. 12 patients had partial nephrectomy made
and the remaining 48 had the tumor enucleated.
Results. Mean obserwation time was 52.7 months. Local recurrence had 8.3%
and distant metastases with death 1.6% patients.
Conclusion. 1. Nephron-sparing surgery is safe alternative for radical surgery
of tumors to 4 cm in diameter. 2. Prospective 5-years survival time is in 98%
and without recurrence and metastases in 90% patients. 3. Positive prognostic
factors are different histopathologic structure then ca. clarocellulare, incidental
tumor findings and female sex.
