urinary tract urolithiasis prophylasis treatment
summary
- Objective. Author describes 4.5 years obserations of treated stone formers.
- Material and method. 57 patients with active urolithiasis were treated with
- the using of hydrochlorotiazid 50 mg/day, potassium citrate 60 mmol/day,
- allopurinol 300 mg/day.
- Results. In the treated groups significant decrease of the recurrence rate
- and higher percent of remission of the disease were observed. In the calcium
- oxalate group also decrease of the urologic manevrous was observed.
- In the untreated groups decrease of the stone forming activity was also
- observed, but not so high as in the treated groups (50-70% vs 70-100%).
- Conclusions. Prophylasis and treatment of active stone formers decrease
- the fre±uency of the recurrent urolithiasis.
