Retroperitoneal schwannoma is a rare, usually benign tumour that arises from the nerve supplying the Schwann cell. We report our experience and diagnostic dilemmas concerning a giant tumour, which by computer tomography was diagnosed as arising from the right adrenal gland. The tumour was resected by open method. The histopathological examination revealed a benign schwannoma. To our knowledge our report describes one of the largest tumours of that kind.
