The investigations were performed in 25 inbred rats. The animals were divided into three groups.
In the first experimental group, denervation of the testis was achieved by excision of the branches of
testicular plexus, at a distance of about 5 mm along the testicular artery, as well as cutting of the
ilioinguinalis nad genitofemoralis nerves. In the second experimental group, the operation was per-
formed twice. After 30 days the animals were sacrificed by decapitation and the testes were stained
with haematoxylin-eosin according to Mallory, Mc Manus-Hotchkiss, Feulgen and Einarson. We
demonstrated that the intestitial cells are hyperplastic and their volume greatly increases. In the
connectice tissue around the canalicules, fibroblasts and fibrocytes profliferate and increase in num-
ber. After denervation the changes are more pronounced.
