summary

Eleven children with ectopic cyst in the opening of the urethra had hemine-phrouretereotomy performed, one child had the whole double kidney removed. Good results of the operation were obtained in 8 cases, four children had to have an intravesical operation. Heminephroureterectomy in children with ectopic cyst in the opening of the urethra is a safe and simple-operation, and in many cases it can be the only possible method. The vesicoureteral reflux into the ureter draining the lower segment of the kidney, which was observed before the ope­ration, quite often disappears by itself.
