summary

A case of perirenal abscess is described which developed after perforation of gallbladder empyema into the retropertoneal space. During lumbotomy three bile calculi were removed from the retroperitoneal space. The postoperative cour­se was complicated by purulent inflammation of the righ submandibular salivary gland. A pus-excreting fistula remains in the lumbar area and the patient refuses treatment.
