summary
- introduction
- Warm renal ischemia before renal transplantation is a factor affecting very unfavourably metabolism and high-energy compound resources in cells of the transplanted organ. Together with the lengthening of the time of warm ischemia the function of the transplanted kidney deteriorates.
- aim
- The purpose of this study was to preliminary evaluate the role of elimination of warm ischemia time of transplanted kidney.
- material and method
- In this study method of elimination of the warm ischemia is shown. The method is based on the cooling of the harvested kidneys with perfusion fluid and the application of a specially constructed bag, in which the transplanted kidney is placed in the time course from a removal from ice to the reconstruction of vessel flow. The method of elimination of the warm ischemia time was employed in 30 patients.
- results
- With elimination of the warm ischemia time, function of transplanted kidney directly after operation was corrected.
- conclusion
- Due to the applied method of the elimination of the warm ischemia one can expect better early renal function after transplantation – decrease of frequency of acute tubular necrosis (ATN – Acute Tubular Necrosis), which are the cause of acute renal insufficiency.
