summary

Introduction. The subpelvic ureter stenosis is usually described as an isolated abnormality, but can be accompanied by other development anomalies as well. The stricture located in this part of the ureter can lead to the high grade hydronephrosis and is prone to produce multiple calculi of the urinary tract. For this reason patient with the mentioned above findings sometimes require the partial nephrectomy apart from the pelvic plastic surgery.
The aim of the study. Presentation of the technique of pyeloplasty using the lower calyx wall in own modification.
Material and method. In this paper we present the results of menagement the 8 patients aged from 26 to 62 years. Horseshoe kidney was found in 6 patients and 2 patients had the subpelvic ureter stricture with the high grade hydronephrosis, affecting mainly in the lower calyx. The horseshoe kidney was associated with nephrolithiasis and hydronephrosis in all of the cases. The pyeloplasty was made using the wall of the lower calyx in all of them.
Results. All the patients reported symptoms relieve and performed diagnostic imaging (IVP, ultrasonography) showed wide passage of the pyeloureteric junction.
Conclusion. The calycopyeloplasty with using of the lower calyx wall was allowed to the wide renal pelvis resection and seems to be good solution in cases with small pelvis. It gives possibility to create wide pyeloureteric connection in the lowest point, functionally with the best location.
