summary

In 17 (29.3%) of 58 patients with Prostatitis treated in the Urological Department of the Hospital in Wrocław, Chlamydia trachomatis was discovered in the urethra. The tests were performed by McCoy cell culture method and by immunofluorescent and immunoenzymatic techni±ues. The culture method revealed Chlamydia in 10 out of 24 studied patients, the Chlamyset test showed elementary bodies in 1 out of 5 tested patients and Chlamydiazyme test revealed C. trachomatis antigens in 6 out of 29 tested patients. The highest percentage of positive results (41.6%) was obtained by the culture method
