summary

Presented in this paper is the analysis of the complications which occured as the result of crushing the calculi in the urinary tract with extracorporally generated wave. The material covered 5142 patients who underwent the ESWL procedures. An attack of kidney pain occured in 1285 patients (25%), temperature in 309 patients (6.0%), Steinstrasse in 129 (2.5%), perirenak and subcapsular haematomas in 46 (0.9%). The majority of patients were treated on out-patient basis and only some re±uired hospitalization.
