summary

Presented are the results of treatment of 495 patients with staghorn calculosis of the kidneys, who were treated by Percutaneous lithotripsy (PCNL) and by PCNL combined with crushing of the calculi with extracorporaly generated shock wave (ESWL). In 285 patients (58.2%) staghorn calculi were totaly removed by PCNL. In the remaining patients who had PCNL and ESWL 70% were free of concrements and in 10% the diameter of left over fragments did not exceede 5 mm.
