The rationale of debelizine use after external shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) in cases of renal and ureteral calculi is based on earlier clinical studies of the properties of the drug (spasmolytic, analgetic action facilitating the passage of concrements). In 200 out of 300 patients the drug was given after ESWL. In the Control group of 100 patients the drug was not given, and after ESWL in 55 cases renal colic appeared (40 patients reąuired administration of spasmolytic agents in drip infusion). After 3 months half the patients excreted completely crushed concrements, while in the debelizine-treated group this occurred in 81% of cases. In 70.0% of cases pains were absent, in 30.0% they were slight and regressed after administration of apasrnolytic and analgesic agents. The authors consider
