kidney renal cell carcinoma brain metastasis

summary

There are not many reports dealing with the reemission of the malignant
neoplasm metastasis 10 or more years after the removal of the primary focus.
Between 1970-1995 in the Department of Neurosurgery in Cracow, 428 patients
were operated on. In 33 cases (6.8%) the renall cell carcinoma metastasis was
operated. In 2 cases the nefrectomy was made because of the renal cell carcinoma
which appeared 10-12 years before the increase of the intracranial pressure. At
the same time radiological examination showed the pulmonary metastasis. Some
research was done and the symptoms of the late renal cell carcinoma were
analysed.
