summary

Objective. Operative techni±ue and clinical evaluation of modified Alcini
neobladder with rotundovaginosuspension is presented.
Material and method. Three women (age 63-83) suffering form bladder
carcinoma pT3aNoMoG2_3 were treated in the last year, by cystectomy with
creation of modified Alcini neobladder. Elevation of the vaginal stump
accomplished by suturing in to the round ligament of the uterus enabled
preservation of the proper urethro-vesical angle.
Results. All patients had non-complicated post-operative recovery. Thariks
to avoiding cystostomy and not passing uretheral catheters through the
neobladder wall it was possible to remove the urethral catheter 10-12 days
after the operation. All patients had full diurnal and nocturnal continence with
nocturia of 1-2 times, bladder capacity of 300-350 ml and negligible residual
volume.
Conclusions. Achieved results seems to confirm the assumption based on
anatomical and functional premises. We fill that this type of the operation may
be a valuable recommendation for urinary diversion in women after cystectomy.
