The aim of the paper is to summarize the historical development the

research, and the didactic achievments of the department. The author mentions

heads of the department and describes the most important topics such as: the

research on kidney damage, and urinary tracts urolithiasis, benign and

malignant human prostatic neoplasms and laparoscopic surgery in urology.
