summary

In the paper the seven years observation of the women with orthotopic
ileal neobladder is presented.
In sixty two years old women, on lOth January 1990, was created orthotopic
ileal neobladder as urinary diversion after cystectomy.
At present patient feels good and is fully active, voids every 3 hours. She is
completely dry in day; sometimes she loses smali amounts of urine in the night.
The maximal volume of Heal neobladder is 750 ml. The micturition volume
is 350 ml. At this volume pressure inside the neobladder reaches 35 cm H9O.
Residual volume of urine after voiding is not greater then 30 ml. There are
no peristaltic contractions. 1VP and ultrasonography of upper urinary tract
are normal. There is no evidence of neovesico - ureteral reflux. Metabolic
changes haven't been detected. The urine culture has revealed the presence
of Klebsiella oxytoca, without any symptoms of infection.
In our opinion ileal neobladder can be used as urinary diversion in selected
female patients but they need permanent urological care.
