kidney congenital anomalies of kidneys megacalicosis
summary
- Megacalycosis is a rare congenital anomaly with dilatation of renal calyces
- without coexisting renal pelvis dilatation. This anomaly is symptomless and
- does not need any treatment. The renal function is normal but some urine
- outflow disturbances may lead to infections and lithogenesis. IVP, dynamic
- renoscintigraphy and Whitaker's test could be helpful in differentiation with
- hydronephrosis.
- Patients and method. The case of megacalicosis coexisted with renal stone
- is presented. Patient was treated with ESWL with a good result ? total
- desintegration and spontaneus expulsion.
