summary

Objective. The value of extended sphincterotomy in the treatment of
neurogenic disfunction of the lower urinary tract was evaluated.
Materials and method. 25 patients with neurogenic disfunction of the lower uri-
nary tract after spinal cord injury were treated endoscopically by extended sphincte-
rotomy.
Results. Ou of 25 patients in 88% (22 patients) good results were obtained. In
12% (3 patients) no improvement have been found.
Conclusions. Extended sphincterotomy is the method to be recommend in pa-
tients with neurogenic disfunction of the lower urinary tract after unsucceful conse-
rvative therapy.
