prostate epitestosterone
summary
- The paper presents epitestosterone which has been believed as a metabolite without
- any hormonal activity. Recent studies showed that a complex action of epitestosterone
- consists of competitive binding to androgen receptor, of inhibition of testosterone bio-
- synthesis and its reduction to dihydrotestosterone and of antigonadotropic activity.
- Authors conclude that epitestosterone is effective as an antiandrogen and can contri-
- bute to the regulation of androgen dependent organs especially prostate.
