summary

Erectile dysfunction (ED) which is associated with arteriosclerosis has been known since 1923 from the first R Leriche publication. The first time in 1978 V. Michal described the ED as a consequence of the arteriosclerosis of the minor pelvic vessels which had led to formation of natural by-passes. It allowed to get the erection during rest, but it was not enough to get an erection during exercise. Exercise leads to the ?external iliac steal syndrome? / ?pelvic steal syndrome?. In this paper authors showed the anatomical and hemodynamic changes of external iliac steal syndrome. There is association between atherosclerotic changes in iliac vessels and ED during exercise because of external iliac steal syndrome. Some methods of diagnostics and treatment have been shown.
