summary

The authors report their observations from a period of ten years concerning the treatment of oestrogen-resistant prostatic neoplasma in 31 patients in whom orchidectomy was done decause of deteriorating general condition and urinary retention. In 25 cases the patients improved, and in 7 cases spontaneous bladder voiding became again possible. ,In 24 cases transurethral prostatic electroresection was re±uired. Secondary orchidectomy improved the general condition of most patients but had no effect on the progression of prostatic tumour.
