ADENOMECTOMY BY THE METHOD OF MILLIN. THE PROBLEM OF PREOPERATIVE CATHETERIZATION OF PATIENTS

summary

Prostatic adenomectomy was carried out in 332 patients and in 214 cases the patients were admitted to hospital worth indwelling catheter and after long-term catheterization (64,45%). Microscopic examinaition showed in this group of patients presence of chronic Prostatitis besides prostatic adenoma in 82.24% of cases. In the group without preoperative catheterization chronic Prostatitis was diagnosed in only 35.54% of cases. In the group of catheterized patients purulent Prostatitis was additionally diagnosed in 22.42% of cases, while in the non-catheterized group this complication was nevex demonstrated.
