- The authors present two cases of radical nephrectomy carried out from a thoracoabdominal approach with resection of the eleventh rib and removal of neoplastic plugs from the lumen of the inferior caval vein. The results of both operations was good. One patient is well and has no complaints two years after the operation, the other patient has increasing radiological evidence of metastases in the lungs 13 months after the operation.
